Aerthys is the Root expressed as air — motion, clarity, voice, and perception. Swiftest and least bound of the elemental courts, it is the realm of messengers and seers, of the word carried across distance and the truth glimpsed from above. It is the home of the unclaimed Air Shard, which has never settled with any keeper and may never; the Air Court does not hunt for what it lost, trusting that what belongs to the open sky will find its own way home. Its people prize freedom over possession, and they are notoriously difficult to hold to anything — including, sometimes, a side.
