Antlered beasts resembling elk, but with horns that glisten like crystalline branches. When threatened, their antlers vibrate, producing low, resonant tones that unsettle foes and seem to ripple through the air itself. They are most often seen at the thresholds of forests, standing very still, as if guarding a boundary only they can perceive. There is nothing aggressive in them; their power is defensive, a sound that asks a predator to reconsider. Where Echo-Stags gather, the old say, the land is keeping something — and would rather not be disturbed.

Their antlers do not strike. They sing a warning the body hears before the mind.
