Waterborne creatures with sinuous, plesiosaur-like bodies, Veil Serpents shimmer in translucent blues and greens that make them appear half-vanished beneath the surface — there one moment, gone the next, never quite where the eye expects. Local myths claim their coils can pull a soul into the Veil itself, and the myths are not entirely wrong: to be taken by a Veil Serpent is to be drawn somewhere the body cannot follow. They are not malicious so much as they are the boundary made hungry — the thin place between worlds, given teeth.
