Biography
Joris Rhodin took the Inquisition's oath the way other men take a salaried post — without illusions, and without much intention of being martyred for it.
He is competent, unhurried, and entirely uninterested in the theology of his office; what he wants is a clean docket and a quiet advancement. That very detachment makes him dangerous in a different way than the zealots: Rhodin will do what the order asks without ever needing to believe it, and so without ever being slowed by doubt.
