Crimson flowers that open only under direct sunlight, Emberblooms release a faint, glowing pollen that lingers in the air like dust motes lit from within. They are harmless — and yet quietly unsettling, because the pollen glows brighter when someone speaks nearby, flaring softly in time with the voice, as if the flower were listening and approving. A field of them at noon, brightening and dimming around a conversation, can feel like being watched by something kind but not quite understood. Their resin is volatile and useful to alchemists; their light is useful to no one, and that is rather the point.
